Andrew Hinderaker’s Away premiered on Netflix on September 4, 2020. Since then, binge-watchers cannot stop talking about it. They are already waiting for Netflix to renew the next Season of Away. The extraterrestrial American web series starring Hilary Swank definitely ended with a major cliffhanger. In the last month, Away has garnered millions of viewers across the globe and was even categorized as one of the trending series at the time. Hence, it is not surprising that fans are now expecting Away Season 2.

Will there be Away Season 2?
So far, Netflix has not confirmed that the American web series will come back with another season. However, with the current details, we can expect the Away Season in the fall of 2021. Netflix usually books a show for next instalments owing to its popularity and views. Well, in that case, fans can definitely return a comeback.
It is not just viewers who want the season to return. Creator of the show, Andrew Hinderaker, is also eagerly waiting for confirmation from Netflix. “There’s no news to break in terms of whether we know that there will be future seasons, but the plan was always for a multi-season arc.” He said.
“The intention was always to start the first Season and end the first season exactly how we did. But part of the reason the show is called Away is we were always interested in that journey, what happens when they go home. There’s this phenomenon among astronauts, it’s so fascinating where home becomes space, and they feel away back home. And, of course, that’s amplified in a mission to Mars where you’ve been gone for three years. You literally are different people when you come back.” Andrew added.
The cast of Away also wants the season to return to the screens. Ato Essandoh said. “I’m sure there are plans for a second Season like there would be any time and I would definitely want to be a part of that.” Ray Panthaki, another actor in the show said. Also, he added, “Of course, I would love for there to be a second season of the show. I think there’s so much more for it to say.”
What to expect in Away Season 2?
According to the lead actress of Away, Hilary Swank, the second season will primarily focus on the mystery of the space. “Well you know, if we were to do anything else, I think it’s continuing to explore.” Hilary plays Captain Emma Green in the show. But there will not be any extraterrestrial aliens, said showrunner Jessica Goldberg.
Season 1 of Away talked about globalism and international collaborations in which the viewers witnessed world space powers coming together in a mission to reach Mars. This included even the private sector space exploration companies. In a modern world, it is not unknown that entrepreneurs like Elon Musk and Jess Bezos are exploring space.
The cast of Away Season 2
In the second season, fans can expect the return of their favourite characters. This includes Hilary Swank as Captain Emma Green, Vivian Wu as Lu Wang, Mark Ivanir as Misha, Ata Essandoh as Kwes, Ray Panthaki as Group Captain Ram Arya along with others. There has not been any update from Netflix about Away Season 2. It is a 90 percent chance that Away will make it to Season2.
